I became a small business owner in 1987 after 18 years in corporate America. Nothing I did professionally helped prepare me for meeting the payroll for my small business. As the reality of running a business with a staff of fewer than 7 people began to unfold, I remember questioning where I could go to get some professional advice. The days of someone mentoring me were long gone. So, now…22 years later…the internet is here and there’s this Blog stuff going on. What an interesting way to network with other owners and managers about the issues facing us in our professional and personal lives. So, that’s the purpose here. Since I’m sitting in my office getting longer in the tooth each day, I figure this forum might be helpful or at least an interesting diversion for those of us carrying the double edged sword of decision making in these challenging economic times.
